When I first moved to San Francisco many years ago to attend art school, I worked for a number of alternative magazines as an art director. One was Metro Magazine where we had a section devoted to photography in every issue. One of the artists we featured was Michael Kenna who is in the exhibition currently on view at Gallery 339. His work was well known in the Bay Area, a place that's very supportive of landscape photography and photography in general. There are a number of good photographers in this exhibition including Tetsugo Hyakutake who is shown here.
