"Repurposes" Opens Today
I am proud to be exhibiting in the "Repurposes" exhibition at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. The name of the university conjures up images of old brick and ivy, but The Ellen and Barton Gordon Galleries are anything but old, in fact they look like they were built yesterday. The entire campus near the gallery is very modern and has many shops and restaurants.
My wife Lisa and I drove down to install the work. The piece above obviously didn't need any special handling, but the other two pieces are very large and needed to be assembled and installed. After the work was finished we had mexican food and a few 16 oz. margaritas, then took a nice walk around the campus. The weather couldn't have been better for March.
Kenneth FitzGerald, one of the curators for the show, told us there will be a website dedicated to this exhibition that will be going live real soon. The show was more than half way up so we got to see a lot of the work installed. We were really impressed by the quality of all the work and look forward to seeing it when everything is up. I'll post some images add some links as they come in.
