Artist, Ed Hall

On our trip down south we visited friends Ed Hall and his wife Emmy in Jacksonville. Both paint and Emmy is an architect, and Ed is a syndicated political cartoonist who takes drawing seriously. He told me he draws every day, sometimes all day, and he and a number of artists have formed drawing groups that meet regularly at different locations around Jacksonville. You can see some of Ed's work on his blog Halltoons.

One of the benefits of being an artist in Florida is that the warm weather makes it possible to work outdoors. In the image above, Ed is working on one of his large works on paper. I saw a few of these framed and hanging in galleries and they're really impressive. Click on the photos to see the full piece.
