I was really happy to see that artist, Angel Ortiz, has work in the exhibition “Art in the Streets” at LA's MoCA. But according to a post on artnet.com, "New York’s own LA II, aka, Angel Ortiz, who collaborated with Keith Haring -- received his invite to the VIP opening while he was sitting in a cell at Rikers Island, New York’s city jail, where he faces a felony charge."
I originally met Angel at my studio space at chashama, and hope he's released very soon. AO can paint as you can see above, standing by a large piece that I photographed Angel (right) with his collaborator on the painting, Dean Radinovsk. A collector was coming over that very night to pick up the sold piece.
